Synopsis:

Country music legend Dolly Parton lends her sunny charm to this heartwarming film. When hard-living barroom singer Ruby Diamond (Parton) dies in a car accident and meets St. Peter (Roddy McDowall) at the gates of heaven, the angel informs her that she must return to Earth to perform a selfless deed in order to gain admittance. Disguising herself as a nanny, Ruby soon edges her way into the joyless family life of workaholic widower Ben Bartilson (Brian Kerwin) and his children Sarah (Allison Mack, TV's Smallville) and Matthew (Eli Marienthal, The Iron Giant) - hoping to both heal the grief-stricken family and earn her heavenly wings in time for Christmas. Punctuated by Dolly's musical numbers, UNLIKELY ANGEL is an affirmation of the holidays, love, and family.
