In an era of global instability, how would people react to a mysterious alien that battles deadly monsters on Earth? Would a suspicious human race be capable of viewing Ultraman as a friend or foe? Ultraman Nexus follows Kazuki Komon, a first responder who joins the Night Raiders, a secret group that fight murderous monsters called Space Beasts. Komon’s life is changed after the mysterious giant called Ultraman saves his life, but is shocked to find that the Night Raiders’ parent organization, TLT, is inclined to view Ultraman as a threat

Shunichi Maki, a pilot with the Japan Air SelfDefense Force, is about to turn in his uniform when an order comes to scramble and destroy a strange UFO. But as his jet nears the UFO, Maki blacks out and crashes info the UFO. Found alive and unharmed, Maki learns a week earlier another pilot experienced the very same thing. But after the collision the previous pilot’s body grew in size and strength, eventually mutating into a huge and terrifically powerful beast that has escaped. The first beast is code-named “The One”. Maki has been code-named “The Next”. When The One returns to battle Maki, he begins to transform... into Ultraman The Next.
